Introduction

Clinically proven treatments. Honestly delivered.

At South Coast Hair Restoration, we believe the best outcomes come from honest conversations, meticulous technique, and genuine long-term care. Our lead surgeon, Dr Alex, performs every procedure personally — assessing your suitability with care, planning your treatment with precision, and supporting you well beyond the day of your procedure. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and operate to the highest standards of clinical governance, because that is what our patients deserve.

Hair Restoration Treatments

We offer a carefully curated range of surgical and non-surgical treatments, each selected for their evidence base and the quality of results they deliver. Whatever your hair loss concern, we will help you find the right path forward.

The gold-standard surgical approach to permanent hair restoration, using minimally invasive follicular unit extraction.

Scalp Micropigmentation

A precision pigment technique that replicates the appearance of natural hair follicles, delivering density and definition.

Medical Management

A tailored programme of clinically approved medications and topical treatments to slow hair loss and support ongoing hair health.

WHAT EVERY PATIENT SHOULD KNOW

How to Choose a Hair Transplant Clinic

Choosing the right clinic is the most important decision in your hair restoration journey. The questions below are the ones you should ask of every clinic you consider — including us. We welcome the scrutiny.

Yes. South Coast Hair Restoration is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England. CQC registration is not optional for clinics performing surgical procedures — it is a legal requirement. It means we are subject to regular inspection and must demonstrate compliance with rigorous standards of safety, clinical governance, and patient care. Before choosing any hair transplant clinic, ask to see their CQC registration. If a clinic cannot provide it, walk away.

Every procedure at South Coast Hair Restoration is performed by Dr Alex, a fully registered member of the General Medical Council (GMC). GMC registration is the gold standard of medical qualification in the UK — it confirms that a practitioner has met strict standards of education, training, and professional conduct. Regrettably, some clinics use unqualified or minimally trained technicians to perform procedures. We believe this is unacceptable. You can verify any surgeon’s GMC registration independently at gmcuk.org.

At South Coast Hair Restoration, Dr Alex performs your procedure. This is not a clinic where a surgeon conducts the consultation and then hands you over to a technician in the theatre. From assessment through to the final graft placement, you are in the hands of the same qualified consultant surgeon throughout. This approach takes longer and costs more to run — but we believe it is the only ethical way to practise.

A thorough consultation should assess the current extent and likely progression of your hair loss, discuss the full range of treatment options (not just surgical ones), be honest about what is and is not achievable, explain the risks as well as the benefits, and give you time to ask questions without any pressure to commit. At South Coast Hair Restoration, consultations are conducted by Dr Alex personally. There is no sales team. If we do not believe a procedure is right for you — whether due to insufficient donor hair, unrealistic expectations, or an unstable underlying condition — we will tell you.

We do. Hair loss is often a progressive condition, and the decisions made today — particularly around hairline design and donor hair usage — can have significant consequences years down the line. We plan every treatment with your future in mind, not just the immediate result. That means preserving donor supply intelligently, setting realistic expectations, and planning for the possibility of further treatment if needed.

Aftercare is not an afterthought at South Coast Hair Restoration. Following your procedure, you will receive a comprehensive written aftercare protocol, direct access to our clinical team for any questions or concerns, and scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor your progress. We track results at key intervals and are always available to discuss any aspect of your recovery or outcome.

When evaluating a clinic’s results, look for consistency across a large portfolio — not just the best one or two outcomes. Seek independent reviews on platforms such as Google and Trustpilot where responses cannot be selectively deleted. Ask whether before-and-after images are from the clinic’s own patients and whether they have been digitally altered. Be wary of exceptionally low prices, which are rarely consistent with high-quality surgical practice. And if in doubt, seek a second opinion from another qualified surgeon.
